Well the family has just got back from a great midweek break in Center Parcs Whinfell Forest in Cumbria. The whole package was fantastic and we all had a brilliant time. The weather was very cold and frosty which made the trees look stunning. The pool complex was huge, warm and the children were addicted from the start. So much so we had trouble convincing them to try out the other facilities. In the end we tried falconry, fencing, archery and willow weaving. Lorii was very proud of her conical plant trellis. The Lodge was huge and well appointed; we certainly enjoyed having a dishwasher again. The food at the restaurants in the Village Centre was good and very filling. One of the main highlights for me was that cars were banned from the forest from Tuesday to Thursday; so I was free to drink. Bliss! In fact we had such a great time we are planning our return in January! Where I get to celebrate turning forty!
